Woodfired Pizza at the Maine Beer Shed
You asked for pizza, we asked our friends over at Maine Wood Heat to build us a pizza oven! We’re firing up the pizza oven Wednesday - Sunday (see pizza hours.) Enjoy your pie with a pint at The Beer Shed outside by the fire, in the greenhouse, or at our new indoor tables! Or take your pizza and beer to go. Stay tuned for online pizza ordering.
Pizza Made with Fresh, Local Ingredients
We’re piling locally grown produce and pasture raised meats on top of The Good Crust, artisan dough crafted from Maine Grains. Cheese fans rejoice ‘cause we’re topping special pies with rich ricotta from Crooked Face Creamery and tons of other unique Maine cheeses brought to us by our friends at Milk Mavens. The best part about our pizza oven made by Maine Wood Heat in Skowhegan, Maine… the fuel comes from our abundant, surrounding forests! Using renewable energy is one of our guiding principles (see more on our sustainability practices.)
We had a test run on the pizza making during Sugarloaf Homecoming Weekend. Here’s what infamous Sugarloafer and the unofficial Mayor of Kingfield, Bob Tripi had to say:
What Else is Happening in the Pizza Oven?
Crusty bread in the mornings and pies and savory pastry in the afternoon! We’ll keep that oven lit and baking all day. Requests? Tell us in the comments below!
